A thorough analysis of the activity of companies involved in the market of windows is difficult to perform at the beginning of the year, especially in the absence of official data concerning the turnover registered in 2013, but - based on solid pieces of information announced earlier - some general elements that allow certain predictions with a high degree of acceptability can be outlined. Thus, for the first quarter of 2014, most companies specialized in the thermal insulating joinery and related sectors announced that due to the insecurity of local demand, the need to implement additional measures in order to complete the process of adapting to the new economic conditions is highly necessary. Thus, firms in the industry are somewhat "forced" to diversify their activity so that they may enter in a losses recovery period or in order to strengthen the upward trend registered in 2013. By analyzing the statements of the managers of specialized companies, it can be seen that they applied different specific procedures in order to overcome the main problems which they have encountered and are prepared to cope realistically with the new challenges of year. Even if predictions on the dynamics of windows and facades are yet uncertain (the stabilization of the market in the second half of this year, followed by a slight increase in 2015 being estimated), most decision makers have a moderate - optimistic attitude about the development of their business. However, if one consults the information provided by more than 500 major companies from the thermal insulating joinery sector (corroborated in the TOP 500 Joinery Manufacturers publication elaborated by the Window magazine), it may be noted that, regardless of the difficulties encountered in 2013, any downward trend scale similar to the period of maximum intensity of the recession, may be removed from among the macroeconomic assumptions upon which the firm-specific business strategies in the industry are developed and adapted at the beginning of the year. Thus, according to the data from the top, the official reported aggregate turnover of the 500 producers (which includes exports) increased by 2% in 2012 compared to the previous year.
