The sales of adhesives and dry mortars by Henkel Romania increased by 15% in 2012 compared to the previous year. For 2013, the management of the specialized division estimates a new annual growth of about 10%. Last year, the turnover reported at the level of all the company's activities (including here the segment of consumer goods) exceeded 136 million EUR, up 12% from 2011. Recently, the company opened a new factory for dry adhesives and mortars in Roznov (Neamt county) for which were allocated total funds of 45 million RON (10 million EUR). The German group has two more adhesives factories in Romania, at Pantelimon and Campia Turzii opened in 2000 and 2007. The investment in the local factories exceeds 45 million EUR. Henkel Romania was founded in 1994 as a subsidiary of Henkel Central Eastern Europe and has, currently, over 550 employees and a portfolio of over 30 brands, from cosmetics, detergents and commercial adhesives to technologies and other advanced services. The best results of the adhesives division were registered by the sales of CM 11 Plus adhesives for ceramic tiles, the incomes from its commercialization exceeding 10 million EUR. "During the next period we have in plan the launch of new product types, especially since nearly 40% of the incomes reported in 2012 were due to the products included in the tender in the last three years. Outcomes are very good, given that the local construction market suffered a contraction up to 40% in the period 2008-2012. Thus, this year we will launch CM 11 White, which represents a new adhesive for marble and natural stone. Other products that will become available on the market are the Visage decorative plasters and other range of special mortars, while on the DIY segment we shall promote a new model of water-based silicone", said Andrei Dumitrescu, Sales and Marketing Executive for the adhesives division of Henkel Romania. The real value of the investment made by Henkel Romania at Roznov (Neamt county) exceeded 45 million RON, of which about 12 million RON were eligible funds. The factory can produce up to 200,000 tons of dry adhesives and mortars per year and its opening increased the total production capacity on the local market of the adhesives division of Henkel to 700,000 tons annually.
