Despite the fact that the economic situation remained unchanged from the previous 12 months, year 2013 began on the domestic market with a series of new projects, even if investors declared that they looked forward for a most favorable momentum for the implementation of targeted investment objectives. In the first months of this year many residential, commercial and industrial projects were launched. In infrastructure, although no new major road project was announced, were started updates regarding investments aimed at rehabilitation of the most important airports in the country, namely those in Iasi, Cluj-Napoca, Ghimbav (Brasov county) and Mihail Kogălniceanu (Constanţa county). However, there was a special dynamic for urban projects, financed mainly from grant sources. Only in January works evaluated at more than 300 million RON have been awarded. Also, tenders for a number of projects with a similar value were announced, of which bids from construction companies are expected. Significant investments have started or will start in the next period in the business and industrial centers developed in major cities, like the Bucharest - Ilfov, Arad, Cluj-Napoca, Iasi, Ploiesti, Oradea. Only in Bucharest are currently underway or will begin in 2013 several civil engineering projects - particularly residential or office buildings. Among them can be mentioned the Unirii View, AFI Business Park 2, AFI - Bucureştii Noi, Cosmopolis, Evocasa, Eden, the rehabilitation of Bucharest National Theatre building, etc. Also, in Prahova County was announced an investment of one billion Euros, which will run within a decade and involves building a luxury resort that will include several types of construction, both home and leisure.
