CNADNR will assign projects with a value close to a billion EUR this year

By the end of this year, the National Company of Motorways and National Roads (CNADNR) will put in auction construction works of 120 km of highway, corresponding to five contracts totalling 4.1 billion RON (about 927 million EUR). Thus, the design and execution works of Lugoj-Deva highway will be distributed as follows: the second batch will include the construction of a section of 28.6 km, estimated at 1.081 billion RON, the third batch involves the construction of 21.14 km highway worth one billion RON, while the last batch foresees a sector of 22.14 km, for which funds of 1.04 billion RON will be allocated. Another contract estimated at 661.9 million RON, involves the construction of a section (second batch) of highway Timişoara - Lugoj on a length of 25.62 km. The fifth contract which includes the design and execution works for Nădlac-Arad motorway and a link road (first batch, km 0 +000 - km 22 +218), with a total length of 22.21 km, will be assigned at a value of about 304 million RON. For the current year, CNADNR has a budget for investment projects (rehabilitation, highways, roads / express and bypasses) worth 5.3 billion RON (1.2 billion EUR). CNADNR estimates that this year 137.24 km of highway will be inaugurated, namely lots 1, 2, and 4 of the project Orăştie - Sibiu (60.46 km in total), the first batch of Nădlac-Arad highway (16.66 km), 32.5 km from Arad-Timişoara highway, 27.62 km of Lugoj-Deva highway (first batch), including the connecting road to the highway with an additional length of 10.51 km. Also, in 2014 was established the completion of the third batch from Orastie-Sibiu motorway, with a total length of 22.11 km. However, the Romanian National Railway Company (CFR) recently awarded a contract worth 1.25 billion RON (about 290.6 million EUR) to a consortium of companies that includes the Austrian company Alpine, which recently entered insolvency. The award notice was posted on SEAP on the 2nd of July 2013. The project consists in the construction of the railway Vinţu de Jos - Simeria (part of the section of railway infrastructure Coşlariu - Simeria) and provides the link between the Central and Western areas of the country.
